What is TravelinformationCamp?
Traveler information at train stations is undergoing major innovation, driven by changes in customer demands and mobility markets, regulation, and technological advances. DB Station&Service has started a major project to create the next generation of traveler information for its 5,400 train stations. We have redesigned content and processes, and are in the midst of tendering hardware for new presentation devices and implementing a new IT backend.
A lot of projects are going on at a national level, but there is only limited exchange of experiences between the implementers in different countries. That is why we organizing a bar camp for traveler information at stations! It will allow us to exchange ideas on design and implementation of traveler information at train stations, identify possible synergies through collaboration, and strengthen the international community of implementation experts.
2nd edition of the TravelinformationCamp
DB Station&Service will reach a major goal in fall 2018. We will start with the roll out of the new traveler information system for the first stations in Germany. This includes new IT backend, centralized data platform, customer-oriented layouts, new displays in various formats and technologies and finally new defined processes. With this background we have a good starting point for leading discussions around traveler information. Your are invited to join the knowledge exchange.
